Places to visit outside St. Ives

St. Michael’s Mount

St. Michael’s Mount is an incredible sight to behold, a castle atop an island hill. When the tide is out, the old stone causeway emerges and you can walk across to the island (check tide times), and when the tide is in, enjoy a quick boat ride across. Explore the castle (look out for the giant’s stone heart) and beautifully landscaped gardens. Please note that it is not open on Saturdays.

The Minack Theatre

Our favourite attraction in Cornwall and a must-see! The Minack Theatre is a breath-taking open-air theatre built in to the cliff face, with beautiful views of Porthcurno beach and the coastline. Enjoy a daytime visit, or check out their exciting programme and enjoy an evening or matinee performance.

The Eden Project

The Eden Project is an eco-paradise celebrating conservation and sustainability. Huge biomes house the largest rainforest in captivity, as well as a taste of the Mediterranean, literally, in their restaurant in the Mediterranean biome. Wander around the landscaped gardens and enjoy the exhibitions.
